The ej-l mailing list is for the intelligent discussion of the music and guitar playing of multi-award winning musician Eric Johnson. News of upcoming releases, tours, interviews and other EJ news can be found here first, even before the web site! These are the guidelines/rules for the Official Eric Johnson Mailing List. The list is owned and moderated by Park Street, Eric Johnson's Internet Major Domo, (a.k.a. List Jeffe') so direct any questions to him. Please read everything thoroughly as it will answer many of your questions. See also the FAQ's. Eric is not subscribed to this list and does not even own a computer, so postings directed at him are in vain. Hope you enjoy the list!

The List "Commandments":

1. Discussion of Eric's personal life is not allowed.

2. Flaming (the use of abusive language towards others) or abusive language is not allowed.

3. The illegal trading or sale of copyrighted material is not allowed.

4. Discussion of, for and about bootlegging and/or tape trading/trees is strictly prohibited and can result in dismissal from the list. This is strictly enforced.

5. HTML usage in e-mail is not readable by many e-mail programs and seriously junks up the digest form of the list, please refrain from using it on the list.

6. Guitar & music related subjects are allowed with the addition of a NEJC (No Eric Johnson Content) or LEJC (Low Eric Johnson Content) preceding the subject in the subject line(as of 9/98).

7. Attachments with your postings, and commercial postings to the list without prior approval of list management are are highly discouraged and generally not permitted.

8. " Me too" postings, and responses or postings directed to other members better handled through direct e-mail are discouraged.

9. We encourage you to trim the original quoted text in your responses to just what is necessary to establish its context. This is to reduce the bandwidth as good netizens , and to make the digest a nicer publication to read.

10. Only using your e-mail signatures every once in a while is also encouraged.
